Junto 3/3/2011

Thank you Colter for presenting last Thursday!

For next March 3rd, Dan Gardner is going to present on the topic of U.S. foreign policy. We are going to look at a few different articles/videos which can be found here:

We will probably also get up another reading here in the next few days but go ahead and look at these to get the general idea of what we will be talking about.

Thanks!

Junto 2/17/11

Big thanks to Jake Honsvick for leading our last Junto presentation.

This week Colter Angell will be leading a discussion a work by Ludwig Von Mises entitled "Middle of the Road Policy Leads to Socialism" and can be found http://mises.org/daily/2370 there. There are a few different links to all of the parts but it is really quite brief.

Feel free to use the comments function on this blog as a type of forum to prepare for Thursday's presentation.

Junto 2/3/2011

Thanks to everyone who came out to our last meeting, it was our largest group yet!

For our next discussion we will continue on with The Road to Serfdom by F.A. Hayek. We will read chapters 5 - 10 and our discussion will be lead by Jake Honsvick, Economics major at BYU-Idaho.

Jake has also put together a document of supplemental reading that can be acquired HERE and we highly recommend that you give it a read!

Feel free to use the comments to this blog as a forum to prepare for our discussion by posting thoughts, possible discussion questions, and additional articles/resources that would help us to prepare.

Be sure to invite anyone that you think would be interested in coming to our groups, we would love to have some opposing viewpoints in our meetings.

Junto 1/20/2011!!!

Next Junto will be on Thursay the 20th 2:00pm @ Craigos.

Our reading will be the first 4 chapters of The Road to Serfdom by F.A. Hayek.

I have not been able to find a complete free pdf version of this book but this is one that should be on everyone's shelf anyways. Amazon has a great deal for it HERE. If you are unable to acquire the book, Ryan Kristjanson has found an abridged version of the book which can be downloaded HERE.

In addition, feel free to invite any of your friends to Junto as we are always looking for more to come.

Go ahead and post discussion questions as comments to this blog.
